HOLLAND CODE

The C Holland code: Conventional

A Holland code describes an interest pattern: the two or three RIASEC directions that stood out in someone's answers. This page is about the code C itself — not about how well any one person fits a job.

What the letters mean

The first letter is the direction that stood out most, then the second, then the third. Short codes are normal — O*NET gives occupations one, two or three letters too.

Ordered by U.S. employment — not by how well they suit anyone. Median wage is the U.S. national employee median from BLS OES; “Not published” means BLS does not publish one for that occupation, not that it is zero.

Wages and employment come from BLS OES, which publishes them by 6-digit SOC occupation. Several O*NET occupations can sit under one SOC code and share the same estimates — that is why some rows show identical wages and employment.

Your code and the occupation codes listed here are not measuring the same thing: the questionnaire asks how much you like doing something, while an occupation profile measures how much of that interest area the work involves. No equivalence study links the two, so treat this list as a starting point for research, not a verdict that these jobs suit you.
